There’s been a ton of controversies lately over who owns certain comic characters, the actual creators, or the companies they work for. All of these cases lead to one real conclusion, read your contract!
How To Add Captcha To Your WordPress Login Page
by CDowd on February 13, 2012 at 8:00 amSo you’re a comic creator, and it’s update day, but instead of your new comic posting as usual, your readers get a suspicious malware warning and never come to your site again. What happened? You’ve probably been hacked.
How To Change Your Username In WordPress
by CDowd on February 6, 2012 at 8:00 amWell, if you didn’t hear, this little ol’ website fell victim to some unscrupulous hackers. Hey, if the government can get hacked, then why should you or me think that we can’t? Hackers will try to take over any site they can, big or small. It’s just the world we live in.
Since being hacked, I’ve learned a thing or two about how to secure your WordPress blog from attack. Am I an expert? No. But the guys who work for the government are, and they get hacked all the time! Anyway, in an effort to help out my comic creating brethren, this will be the first in a series of blog posts about how to toughen up your WordPress website, and hopefully fend off those pesky hackers.
Hello and happy new year! Firstly, I’d like to thank each and every one of you out there who have supported, promoted, read and enjoyed my comic, "Lilith Dark". The response that LD has received over the past year and a half has been nothing less than humbling. Since the original launch in September of 2010, I have been able to meet and interact with so many awesome people, both readers and creators alike. I’ve learned a LOT since then, and now I feel like a cagey indie-comic veteran.
My plan for 2012 is to take what I’ve learned, and apply it to my comic, "Lilith Dark". There are a lot of opinions out there by so called "experts" about the right way to run a comic site, but there’s only one way that’s right for me. I’ll use this post to explain all of the website and comic changes for 2012, and my reasons for doing so.
Wow! 2011 was a HUGE year for Lilith Dark! This was the year that Lilith Dark found an audience, and if you’re reading this, then you’re part of that audience. To all of you who have read, promoted, left comments, and stopped by to say “Hi” at the conventions this year, THANK YOU. “Lilith Dark” is truly a labor of love, and it’s because of your positive feedback and support that I’m able to keep working on this project. With all of that said, I’m afraid I’ve made the tough decision to take “Lilith Dark” on an extended hiatus.
Day of the Dead Lilith Dark Fan Art
by CDowd on November 1, 2011 at 10:46 amHappy Día de los Muertos!
November 1st is the Day of the Dead, an important holiday celebrated primarily in Mexico. In honor of this fascinating holiday, that is about celebrating life and remembrance of lost loved ones, I’d like to share this amazing piece of Fan Friend Art by New Mexico based artist Wenchkin. She’s amazingly talented and I suggest checking her out on Facebook.
Thank you Wenchkin for the awesome art!
My thoughts on the Steve Jobs.

Children’s Books Should Be “Wild”
by CDowd on September 19, 2011 at 1:47 pmMy take on recent comments by “Where The Wild Things Are” author and illustrator, Maurice Sendak.
In an effort to help other creators (myself included), and maybe learn a little something along the way, I’ll be pulling back the curtain and writing about my experiences with advertising my still virtually unknown comic, Lilith Dark.
